A Special Message from Pastor Todd

This morning, we celebrated Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Thousands of people lined the street and cheered, shouted, and praised Jesus as He made the 1.8-mile journey. For perspective, think of the crowds that lined the street to honor the 2016 Chicago Cubs after they won the World Series. Chicago waited 100 years for a champion; the Jewish people waited 2,000 years for their Savior. Here at St. Paul’s, we started the Palm Sunday festivities a day early on Saturday with St. Paul's first annual community Easter Egg hunt. We had 16 kids from the community hunting for over 1000 filled eggs. Thanks to all of you who volunteered and made this all happen. I can’t wait until next year. It might have been just me, but there was a buzz at our service this morning. The church also looked fuller. Praise God.

Sunday began what Christian’s around the world call Holy Week. From the highs on Palm Sunday to the despair on Good Friday, it is a week of ups and downs, culminating in Resurrection Sunday. This is a busy week here at St. Paul’s. On Thursday, at 6 pm, we will have our Maundy Thursday service in the Fellowship Hall. This year, we will be sitting around tables, breaking unleavened bread, eating grapes and cheese, and drinking wine, re-enacting the first Communion celebrated by Jesus. This is followed by our Good Friday service at 7 pm. Culminating in celebrating the day that changed human history, Easter Sunday, please join us for breakfast from 7:15-8:15, followed by the service starting at 9 am.
